Fear and other Bright Moments

January 2012
‘Fear and other Bright Moments‘ is a light installation controlled by detected movement. It consists of a tent hanging upside down mounted on the ceiling and a second one floating above the ground. Once movement is detected by one or more sensors, light-patterns start diverse sequences illuminating the object.
Tents have always been a symbol for shelter – as our minds act like a shelter for our thoughts. The usage of two opposing tents is a way to express how we see ourselves and how others might experience this exact same ‘me’. During this process we eventually encounter overlappings, divergences or disparities.
Light installation: wood, cloth, cables, motion sensors, custom software, micro-controller.
